Hi, i%26#039;m 25 and i%26#039;m starting contemporary dance classes this week, and i wanted to know if it%26#039;s necessary to have a background on ballet to be really good at it, because i have seen that sometimes they do turns or jumps that seems like ballet. I took classes as a little girl but just for a while...

Its really helpful but some people can get away with not having classical training its a bit hard because instructors my refer back to classical moves but if your really deticated your will be able to do it. GOOD LUCK!
